After
a ride on the Palace on Wheels
one may believe the surreal
as real. And the Rajasthan
Tourism Development Corporation
makes one feel stately and
royal with their courtesy
and service..
It
was in 1991 that ICF built
a fully air-conditioned metre
gauge train of 21 coaches
for the Palace of Wheels
for the Rajasthan Tourism
Development Corporation.
With the conversion of metre
gauge into broad gauge in
the Rajasthan sector, the
Integral Coach Factory received
a fresh order for building
Palace on Wheels for broad
gauge.
Not
only has the Integral Coach
Factory established a name
for manufacturing railway
coaches of any design and
specification required
but has established a reputation
for keeping up its delivery
schedule. The present coaches
for the Palace on Wheels
train were designed and
produced within a record
time of 6 months.Palace
on Wheels is Integral Coach
Factory's small contribution
in furthering tourism in
India.
Design
of AC-I class with enhanced
seating capacity from 18 berths
to 22
berths has been developed.
