A
maximun of Rs.35,000/- provided the employee is not
covered under
the Workmen’s Compensation Act or other statutory
obligations and where appointment o compassinate
grounds to the widow or dependents of the deceased
employee
could not be given due to illiteracy or otherwise,
within a
reasonable time depending on merits of each case. |

A maximum of Rs.60,000/-
subject to the condition that compensation is payable under
the Workmen is Compensation Act or other statutory obligations. |

subject to the staff being on LWP for atleast 3 months

Physically handicapped
employees get conveyance allowance financial assistance
from Railway Minister’s Welfare & Relief
Fund is not considered necessary in such cases. They
may be given self loan for acquiring the motorized
vehicles.

Employees affected by natural
calamities. |
A maximum of Rs.4 lakhs
may be given to the railway Administrations as lumpsum,
depending upon the nature, extent and intensity of the
calamity/damage caused by fire, cyclone, flood, earthquake,
etc., and on merits of each case. |

II. Eligibility Criteria.
Group-'D' employees, Widows who have been appointed
in Group 'C/D' posts on compassionate grounds.
Employees in both Group 'C & D' whose wards
are Physically disabled and pursuing the courses mentioned
in Para(1) above (copy of the medical certificate from the
Railway Doctor should be enclosed).

RAIL SURAKKSHA KALYAN NIDHI
OBJECTS:
1. To provide financial assistance to members
of the RPF/RPSF and their families.
2. Grant of scholarship to outstanding and deserving
children of the members of the Force for purusing higher technical
studies like Medical, Engineering, etc.
3. Subject to availability of funds to undertake
assistance to run Welfare Centres in each Division and RPF
Post. Take such other measures as may be necessary from time
to time alleviate distress among the members of the Force and
to promote their welfare.
DEFINITION OF FAMILY
1. Wife, in case of a male member.
2. Husband in case of a female member.
3. Son including step sons.
4. Brothers below the age of 18 years and unmarried
or widowed sisters.
5. Unmarried and widowed daughters including
step daughters.
6. Dependent parents.
MEMBERSHIP:
The membership of the Nidhi is compulsory for
all the ranks. Members are required to pay as under:

SOURCE OF INCOME:
• Subscriptions from members.
• Grant and donations from the Government.
• Sale of defaced empty fired cartridges.
PAYMENT FROM THE NIDHI:
The capital corpus of the Nidhi shall always
be kept intact and only the income there from and the monthly
contribution as well as any other income grant etc. will be
utilised for the purpose stated in the objects clauses of the
Nidhi. All payments from the Nidhi shall be made by Cheque.
VIPATTI SAHAYATA KOSH:
The object of the fund is to provide relief
to the serving members of the RPF/RPSF and their family members
who may be put to extreme difficulties on account of unexpected
and unforeseen distress such as prolonged illness of the member
or serious illness of any other members of the family of the
member of the force and whose assistance from any other source
is inadequate or unavailing.
The amount of relief in each case shall be determined
on the merits of each case by the Managing Committee of RSKN
HQ and Managing Committee of Zonal Railways as under:
Managing Committee of Railway upto Rs.20,000/-
Managing Committee of RSKN HQ upto Rs.50,000/-
The case for grant from Vipatti Sahayata Kosh
shall be decided first by the Managing Committee. It will only
be forwarded to managing Committee RSKN HQ where the Managing
Committee of Railway granted maximum of Rs.20,000/- and the
case merits grant of assistance beyond Rs.20,000/-.
DG RESERVED FUND:
The source of income for DG Reserve Fund is 50%
of the profit of the sale proceeds of defaced empty fired cartridges.
This Fund is placed at the disposal of the Chairman RSKN/DG/RPF
who may sanction assistance from this fund for the objectives
as under:
1. To promote welfare measures including recreation,
sports, cultural
and social activities.
2. Any case of exceptionally deserving nature.
Out of the amount placed at the disposal of the
Chairman, only an amount not exceeding the interest on 50%
of the profits of sale proceeds of defaced empty fired cartridges
can be spent.

2. RELIEF FOR DECATEGORISATION/INVALIDATION:
Invalidation by maiming or any other kind of
disablement in course of duty. Rs.50,000/- lump sum and monthly
pension of Rs.1,000/- p.m. for 10 years or till alternative
appointment or superannuation whichever is earlier.
Disablement for causes other than duty.
Rs.25,000/- lump sum and monthly pension of
Rs.500/- p.m. for 5 years or till the age of superannuation
or re-employment or any other job in the railway whichever
is earlier.
On being declared completely unfit for
all categories during periodical medical examination.
Lump sum of Rs.25,000/- and pension of
Rs.600/- p.m. for 5 years or till compassionate appointment is
given to dependent whichever is earlier.
3. FUNERAL EXPENSES: Rs.7,000/-

doing Bachclor's
degree in Engineering and Medical Courses.

for the entire course
(assistance to be
discontinued on unsatisfactory report).
Merit Scholarship in cases where the Members'
children secured merit Position within first
twenty declared
by the concerned Board.
1. For 10+2 study Rs.150/- p.m. for two years.
2. For 12+ studies Rs.200/- p.m. for three
years.
